Cloth Diapering

I love cloth diapering because not only is it eco-friendly but it causes less stress for mothers than using traditional disposable diapers. You don’t have to worry about spending additional money on diapers and you can spend more time with your kids. However, you have to pay attention to how your child is responding to using cloth diapers, especially if your child has sensitive skin.   You can make your own cloth diapers and tailor them to your child’s individual and personal needs by using different linings and material. You can make your own diaper linings from scrap cloth and repurposed clothing, which saves you even more money. Just make sure you use breathable materials and strip the diaper once in a while to help prevent diaper rash. Making your own cloth diapers and using them takes a little time to get used to, but the long-term benefits and savings do add up.

The Number One Reason Why I Love Cloth Diapers

There are a lot of good reasons to use cloth diapers. Probably the one you hear most often is the Eco-friendly aspect. After all, once a paper diaper hits the landfill, they take (as I recall) an estimated 300 years to decompose.  But honestly, while it’s nice to be able to pat myself on the Keep Reading

Baby City Cloth Diaper Review

December 6, 2013 By Elise New 4 Comments This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure policy for more info.

This Baby City cloth diaper review will help you decide whether these ultra-cheap diapers are for you! Possibly the biggest arguments against cloth diapers is the prohibitive start-up cost. Unless you’re happy to go the old pre-fold and pins route, that is. That’s why I was excited to find Baby Keep Reading

How To Strip Cloth Diapers

I don’t feel very smart right now. We all know that you have to “strip” cloth diapers every once in a while, but for some reason, I guess I just had a brain glitch in that area. Garrett’s diapers, the ones we’ve been using for most of his life, were giving him terrible rashes. I couldn’t Keep Reading

Home-Sewn Diapers

Or The Continuation Of The Diaper Saga. Either way, it’s a good way to save a lot of greenbacks. With a new baby on the way, I recently came to the conclusion that it was time to expand the diaper stash. With Garrett in the process of potty training (and doing quite well, I might add), I hope Keep Reading

Random Ramblings on Cloth Diapering

I’ve been cloth diapering now for… 18 months? The first several months weren’t anything like exclusive, partly because it took a while to get in the groove of washing the diapers before we ran out. There are times now and then that I use paper, For instance, when we go on a long-ish trip, yet not Keep Reading

Preparing For Baby On A Budget

I went online looking for car seat reviews a few days ago, and was reminded once again just how expensive baby gear is. Fortunately, you don’t have to spend that much! Garrett honestly hasn’t cost us that much,  so I thought it might be useful to pass on some of the methods we used for Keep Reading

Cloth Diapering; A lightbulb Moment

A friend and I were talking about cloth diapering at church a few days ago. She was pretty excited about the Fuzzibunz she’d just purchased from ebay. I use mainly Smari Pants,  which are much the same. Both are pocket diapers, both snap down to multiple sizes, both are incredible at wicking Keep Reading
