Slow Cooker

I’m a huge fan of my slow cooker. It’s an incredibly versatile machine to have in the kitchen. The slow cooker is a great way to get meals done and not worry about cooking, just set it in the morning and by dinner time, you’ll have a healthy hearty meal. Some of my favorite things to make in my slow cooker are my baked pork chops and rice. It’s an easy one pot meal that makes clean up quick and easy. A slow cooker is almost mandatory when it comes to making beans because it allows for a long slow cook that make the beans not just tender but flavorful. The great thing about the slow cooker is its ability to work through tough cuts of meat and them juicy and tender, like beef heart. You can save money by purchasing tougher cuts of meat but having them prepped in the slow cooker will make it melt in your mouth. From soups to full dinners, I love my slow cooker!

Sunday mornings are really rushed. You know how it is. First chores, then kid’s baths, diaper bags, snacks, food for the after church potluck, and getting it all out to the car… And then you’re driving down the road and a voice pops up from the back seat. “Mom, can I have some foooood?” Ugh. You Keep Reading

Gluten-Free Chocolate Lava Cake In The Crockpot

Chocolate, butter, and eggs. Who can go wrong with gluten-free recipes like that? I’m pretty sure it’s heaven in a muffin cup (I didn’t have ramekins, so that’s what I baked them in worked like a charm!), but it’s also very, very rich. Then I found a lighter, less fussy version, the kind that is Keep Reading

Italian Beef In The Crockpot

October 21, 2013 By Elise New Leave a Comment This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure policy for more info.

My family has only ever used one recipe to make Italian beef in the crockpot - yes, we always make in the slow cooker. Guests always ask for the recipe and are really surprised when they see how easy it is. It’s simply a matter of throwing three things into a crockpot and letting it cook all day. Keep Reading

Slow Cooker Butternut ‘n Apples

March 4, 2013 By Elise New 1 Comment This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure policy for more info.

This is one of those delightfully easy,  but delicious dishes that help you take advantage of the ever low price of butternut squash. We’ve taken this Butternut ’n Apples dish to our church’s weekly potluck many times (we grew too much squash one year) and never brought home any leftovers. I guess Keep Reading

One of the things that has made my life a lot easier - especially since becoming a mother -  is the crock pot. I absolutely love being able to throw food in in the morning and not have to worry about it the rest of the day. As a bonus, the house smells wonderful after a few hours, like I’m really Keep Reading
