Do you have a whole bunch of favorite soups/stews recipes? The ones you always turn to when the weather starts to get cold? I know I do. I love soups and stews because you can almost just throw everything in the pot and walk away while the ingredients just simmer away. I love to make a soup or a stew and then keep in in the refrigerator overnight to eat the next day. I always find the flavor is so much more delicious that way.
I love making soups and stews in the slow cooker. A great example of this is my homemade slow cooker chicken broth, which takes almost no time because I just throw the chicken carcass in the slow cooker, cover with water, turn on the timer and bingo! After 8 hours of me going about my day and getting things done it’s ready to eat! You can even do this overnight.
My black bean chili is another great stew recipe – and it uses affordable beans for a protein packed vegetarian meal!
