Bath and Body

I absolutely love to DIY bath and body products for myself, my husband and my kiddos. If you have been around the blog for a while, you know that I don’t like having toxic stuff in my home and that goes double for body products that we use! I only want my family exposed to products that are healthy for us.

I have a lot of DIY recipes for bath and body products, including homemade makeup remover wipes, homemade summer deodorant, oatmeal lavender goat milk soap, peppermint toothpaste, Shea butter lotion, homemade face wash and so many more! The list of my homemade body products goes on and on.

Almost any bath product you love can be made at home with non-toxic ingredients. One of the best things about DIY-ing your favorite products is that you can choose the scents you use! You can also decide what kind of ingredients to source.

easy homemade body lotion

**Updated Picture from more recent batch** I’ve been an on again, off again homemade lotion maker for a long time. Ever since I found and fell in love with homemade baby lotion, that’s kind of been my go-to. But then there’s the stretch mark cream recipe, and I like that one as Keep Reading

how to make peppermint cough drops

It’s that time of year again! Yup, along with all the pumpkin spice, and sweater weather, it’s… cold and flu season! I count my little family as generally pretty blessed in the area of health, but you can’t keep you kids away from all the germs, all the time, and last week, Garrett came down with a Keep Reading

homemade lotion bars

Don’t you just love homemade lotion? You rub oils into your skin that not only hydrate, but nourish, and even though you can feel good about rubbing all the lotion you want into your skin, you really don’t need to use as much. I usually tend to use a combination of homemade baby lotion for my face, Keep Reading

Gentle Homemade Face wash

homemade face wash

One of my favorite homemade skincare recipes ever is baking soda face wash. Love, love, love it! But it’s not something I can use every day. Every week yes, every day, no. When I was a teenager, I use to wash my face with Dawn dish soap. I’m not kidding. Obviously, I’ve learned the error of my way, Keep Reading

Homemade Shampoo With Essential Oils

If you’ve been on Pinterest, or any number of other social for a while, you’ve probably seen “no ‘poo” methods pop up here and there. I once went for an entire month washing my hair with nothing but baking soda and vinegar, and unfortunately, couldn’t seem to get rid of the build up on my scalp Keep Reading

DIY muscle rub

I was standing there over the stove, cutting roasted chicken for the kids’ dinner. NBD, right? Right. Until all out of nowhere, my left trap and neck muscle started cramping hard, and I suddenly had a kink in my neck like you wouldn’t believe. You know, the kind where you can’t even turn your Keep Reading

DIY coffee soap recipe

Have you ever had something that every time you used it you said (or thought) to yourself “aww yeah, this is the stuff”? That’s how I feel when I use this soap. It’s mild, it’s soft, it’s invigorating, and it’s not your average soap bar. It’s SO much more than that. It’s all the comforts of Keep Reading

How To Naturally Cure Sunburn

April 22, 2016 By Elise New 1 Comment This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure policy for more info.

Summer is coming up quickly, and that means that the weather is going to be climbing in temperature. Nothing is worse than being out in that boiling hot sun and coming home with a sunburn. If my time in Florida last month taught me anything, it's that you never truly know how just how burned you Keep Reading

Homemade Eucalyptus Sugar Scrub

April 15, 2016 By Elise New 4 Comments This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure policy for more info.

I love homemade sugar scrub. For someone who doesn’t take baths, that may sound crazy (hey don’t look like that, I take showers. :P), but in my opinion, exfoliation is highly underrated (if that’s possible). I mean, aside from the fact that it’s ridiculously easy to make, Sugar scrub is the best Keep Reading

How To Wean Yourself Off Of Antiperspirants

April 8, 2016 By Elise New 1 Comment This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure policy for more info.

Moving away from antiperspirants is kind of a big lifestyle change. That may sound like a funny way to put it, but it’s true if you think about it. So let’s talk about why you would want to do something so potentially gross. Perspiring (sweating), is one of the body’s most effective ways of Keep Reading
