Twined.com – Honest Reviews and Discounted Products

When I first heard about twined.com, I’ll be honest, it sounded a little bit complicated. But after I read over the intro and FAQs a few times, it started to make good sense.

Yeah, I know. I’m slow.

But for those of you who are like me, or have just never heard of it, here’s the gist:

Twined allows you to vote on the things you would love to buy or even commit to buying them at discounted prices, and then, once they have enough people committed, they can negotiate with vendors to “unlock” the price discounts. You are not obligated to buy it until or unless the price you committed to is “unlocked.”

You know how it is. If you buy something in bulk, it’s almost always cheaper. That’s kind of what this is. A whole bunch of people are getting together to split up a bulk order to get a discount.

I like that idea.

Just as importantly, each item is reviewed by someone who knows the ins and outs of it so that you know exactly what you’re looking at and whether it’s right for you.

Twined allowed me to review some of my favorite products for them, and I’m always happy to wax wordy about my favorite kitchen appliances. In this case, my trusty old slow cooker and toaster oven. (you can click on those brown words to see them).

I think Twined is a fabulous business model and a fantastic way to save money on appliances we need, and I wish them every success.

Here, you can get an idea of how it works by checking out my reviews of a few of my favorite appliances. ALSO, I would love it if you would vote for the items you love to help unlock discounted prices.

I love the whole Twined model, and especially that they ask people to honestly review their favorite appliances for their site, rather than using stock descriptions of items. How cool is that?

Would you try Twined?
