7 Ways To Save Money At Lowe’s

Before we started remodeling our old mobile home about two years ago, I hadn’t had a lot of reasons to go into Lowe’s – having been a renter for the previous 7 years, there weren’t a lot of home improvement projects going on. Though my husband did buy some fruit trees and bushes to put on my parents place once. Anyway…

Looking to save money on your home improvement project? Here are 7 ways to save money at Lowe's!

That’s all changed.

Lowe’s it pretty much my favorite place, and I now have a running list of supplies to pick up for projects around the house whenever I’m in town.

If you’re looking for tools and supplies for home improvement projects, Lowe’s is definitely the place to go.

Lowe’s is becoming a haven for homeowners and renters due to its affordable tools and supplies and their impeccable customer service.

Like The Home Depot, you can find a wide range of equipment, appliances, tools, and everything else you need for improving your home. However things can get really expensive.

But don’t worry, there are different ways to spend less at Lowe’s. Here are 7 ways to save at Lowe’s Home Improvement.

$10 Off $50 Purchase

Using your email address, you can get a coupon for $10 off your first purchase of $50 or more.

All you need to do is go to Lowe’s website and sign up for their email. You will then receive an email containing the coupon.

The coupon is good for the next 7 days, so don’t sign up for the newsletter until you are ready to make a qualifying purchase.

Look For Damaged Goods

Every Lowe’s store has a damaged goods section.

Most of these items have small scratches or dings so Lowe’s can no longer sell them at full price. Since it’s a hassle to return them to the manufacturer or ask for the replacement parts, Lowe’s generally just marks them down.

I’ve picked up several photography backdrops for next to nothing in the nicked and scratched markdowns!

Get $10 To $50 Off Coupons

Like other stores, Lowe’s also offers an app that you can download for free using your Android or Apple device.

Lowe’s often sends out special discount codes you can only get if you have the app. Most of these coupons are coupons for $10 all the way up to $50 off your purchase.

Buy From The Clearance Rack

Make sure to always check the clearance section first before you roam around the store. The goods at these racks are always changing so you need to check them every time you visit.

There are two ways to see what is on sale:

  • By going to Lowe’s Clearance Center online and using your zip code to see what’s new at your local Lowe’s stores.
  • Using BrickSeek and entering the product UPC or code of the item you’re looking for and it will tell you how many are in the store and what the price is currently.

Save Up To 80% Off Your Paint

If you’re only painting a few pieces and not your entire house, you can save up to 80% when you buy your paint from the mistint shelf.

You can get a gallon of paint originally priced at $30 for as low as just $9 which will allow you to paint a project or two.

Get Up To $500 Off Large Appliances

Save a few hundred dollars when the large appliance you want to purchase qualifies for a rebate. The rebate comes in a form of a prepaid Visa card that you can use on your next purchase.

If you are making a big purchase for your next appliance, make sure to check the Rebate Center online to see which items qualify for a deal.

Save The Plants

Look for clearance shelves in the garden department with plants that are in not so great shape and you can get up to 80% off.

Also regarding plants, if a plant dies you can take the plant and the receipt or barcode back to Lowe’s and they will either replace it, or give you store credit for up to one full year.  You can also take back the ones you “rescued” if they die.  Annuals, of course, won’t be replaced up to a year as they only live for one year.

We once had a bunch of blueberry plants mysteriously die, and Lowe’s replaced all of them with no hassle!

Lowe’s is one of the best places to shop for home improvement tools at great prices. However, by using the 7 tips above, you can save even more money that you can use on your next home improvement project.

This has been one of the keys to our success in our mobile home remodel.

Happy shopping!

If anyone is a Veteran, active or retired serviceman, Lowes gives a discount. It’s not huge but it usualy pays our sales taxes, and adds up over time.
