Project Fit Pregnancy: Baby Anticipation

They say that half the fun is anticipation, but I think I this case, the anticipation is just making the time drag.

On the upside, I was telling my midwife yesterday that I was disappointed with how well I feel (does that even make sense?!) – after all, you have to be really miserable for a while before the baby can be born, right? I’m not saying I don’t have bouts of misery, but on the whole, I don’t feel too bad. A lot of that is probably having forgotten what telling normal is like

So Tuesday, my workout consisted solely of squats (I’m not counting walking). My back was bothering me, so I didn’t want to risk deadlifts, and for some reason, I just never got around to doing anything upper body.
Saturday was better, but I realized that waiting until the end of the day to workout really isn’t a good idea – especially not with its being so hot out right now.

Tuesday:

Goblet Squat (kettlebell):

    25 lb x 8 reps (+40 pts)
    25 lb x 8 reps (+40 pts)
    25 lb x 8 reps (+40 pts)
    25 lb x 8 reps (+40 pts)

Saturday:

Goblet Squat (dumbbell):

    25 lb x 8 reps (+40 pts)
    25 lb x 8 reps (+40 pts)
    25 lb x 8 reps (+40 pts)

Romanian Deadlift:

    70 lb x 6 reps (+46 pts)
    70 lb x 6 reps (+46 pts)

One-Arm Dumbbell Row:

    25 lb x 5 reps (+38 pts)
    25 lb x 5 reps (+38 pts)
    25 lb x 5 reps (+38 pts)
    25 lb x 5 reps (+38 pts)

Last Saturday, I ended up doing several things that I later realized were the kind of thing folks say will make you go into labor. We had a little emergency with the cow’s water, and I ended up lifting a trough that was the equivalent of the heaviest deadlift I’ve ever done, as well as running – yeah, full out sprinting – across the pasture. I was telling Gabriel later that night and he said, “No, I’m not ready for you to go into labor yet!” Haha! I do have his permission now though.

So, last week before the baby’s born? Maybe so. The midwife says baby’s all ready to go. Someone just needs to inform baby.
