Healthy Strawberry Balls

Need a tasty treat that you can feel good about? These healthy strawberry balls will hit the spot!

My kids and I are huge fans of no-bake energy bites, and generally all things no-bake, especially if it involves feeling like you’re eating something sinful, that’s actually good for you.

And since our healthy chocolate chip cookie dough bites is one of the most popular recipes here on the blog, I think that’s a pretty universal opinion – we all like easy-to-make, healthy, sweet treats.

For me, part of raising kids with intention means teaching them to take care of their bodies, both in terms of exercise, and in terms of what we put in them.

And it’s not that I have anything against making legit gluten-free chocolate chip cookies every once in a while – because part of being healthy is striking a healthy balance – it’s that I think it’s important that they see me intentionally look for ways to make healthier options that are still tasty.

So what if, instead of loading up on strawberries, puréed with butter and powdered sugar, we found a way to use ingredients to make strawberry balls that still tasted like a sweet treat, but actually made you feel good, and energized?

Right now, I don’t think my kids make the connection – in fact, just recently one of them said “but mom, I LIKE junk food!” – but I hope, I believe when they get older, they’ll start to understand why it’s so important to fuel our bodies rather than abuse them.

They’ll start to notice how the things they put in their bodies affect the way they feel, and the way their bodies are able to perform.

I can certainly attest personally that the way I eat makes a huge difference in the way I feel. Truthfully, I don’t notice it too much on days I don’t do anything, but what I eat during the day before a run of even just two miles makes such a huge difference, and on those days, I plan what I eat almost down to the crumb.

These healthy strawberry balls with their clean ingredients fuel that need to feel good, and feel good about what you eat.

Just like most tasty treats, these are pretty calorie and fat dense, which means they’re very filling, which makes them a great snack for growing kids.

Of course, if you’re looking for fudgy chocolate, then healthy no-bake cookies are what you need, but it’s almost spring, which means fruity is IN, and healthy strawberry balls are everything you’re hoping for.

  1. These are good but not at all what I expected. From the pictures, they look more dry and grainy… like donut holes. I didn’t see until I was actually making them that they are frozen treats. Mine were too mushy to roll into balls so I patted it all between parchment paper, into a bowl and put it into the freezer so we can scoop it out like sherbet.

  2. Not sure what happened. Used fresh strawberry and strawberry protein powder and it was a goopy mess, no shape at all. Doubled the powder and that didn’t help. Tastes quite nice though but ball shape wasn’t happening.
