Garlic Rosemary Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh rosemary leaves, or 2 teaspoons dry
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon yeast
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (between 90 and 105º Fahrenheit)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, yeast, and rosemary and mix to combine and mix in to distribute evenly

  2. Stir in water and garlic until a sticky dough forms

  3. Cover bowl and let dough rise for 1-2 hours until almost doubled in size

  4. Cover bowl and let dough rise overnight

  5. Stir down dough and let rest 

  6. Place a 4 quart dutch oven into oven and preheat to 400º
  7. When oven is preheated, remove Dutch oven from oven and sprinkle with flour

  8. Place bread dough into dutch oven, and shape into a boule

  9. Cover with lid, and bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown

  10. Remove from oven, and let cool about five minutes, then loosen edges from pan, and turn onto a cooling grid to finish cooling, or slice and serve hot.
