Ingredients

  • 1 lb of cabbage
  • 2 cups uncooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 lb ground turkey (or beef)
  • 1 onion (optional – I usually don’t use it because my kids don’t like it)
  • 1 18oz. jar of pasta sauce
  • 8 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Garlic powder, salt, and pepper

Instructions

  1. Chop cabbage and lightly steam until crisp tender
  2. Meanwhile, cook rice according to directions
  3. Brown meat with onion (optional)
  4. Preheat oven to 350º
  5. When cabbage is done, drain off water, and add to ground beef
  6. Stir in cooked rice and pasta sauce
  7. Add Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
  8. Pour casserole into a 9×13 baking dish
  9. Sprinkle with cheese
  10. Bake for 20 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly
  11. Serve while hot
  12. Enjoy!
