What side dish is synonymous with fish fries, and pretty much all southern get togethers? You guess it! Coleslaw.
It’s interesting how everyone has their own coleslaw dressing recipe version. I grew up making it with white sugar, and white vinegar, and to this day, that’s how I prefer it. In my late teens though, I was introduced by some friends to using apple cider vinegar and raw sugar, which is arguably healthier, and delicious with it’s slightly more tangy flavor.
Either way, I highly recommend taking five minutes to make homemade mayonnaise, which makes this recipe super awesome, because you can use healthy oils and, like I said over in the copy cat Chick Fil A Avocado ranch dressing recipe (boy, that was a mouthful), enjoy your coleslaw guilt-free!
I would probably call this “copycat KFC coleslaw” because I think it tastes just like KFC, but… it’s been years and years since I’ve had KFC, so my memory could be faulty.
In any case, we all love this coleslaw – even my kids, which surprised me – you don’t really expect kids to like raw cabbage. Hopefully that means our kids’ are growing up to love a variety of whole, healthy foods, right?
In any case, this coleslaw dressing recipe is super easy to make with ingredients that the average kitchen already has in it – you’ll never need to buy packaged dressing again!
