Sauces/Condiments

These recipes are healthy alternatives to store bought sauces and condiments. You an substitute fats by using things like avocado in your causes. These dips and dressings will dress up and freshen up your chips and salads and not have any additional salt nor preservatives. By learning some of the tricks like how to pasteurize eggs or make non gluten egg replacers in your sauces you can easily create any dish down to its finest details–so next time you can pour on the dressing instead of having it on the side.

vegan spinach dip

So I’ve had a jar of marinated artichoke hearts in my pantry for five years, for the specific purpose of making Spinach dip. But guess what? My husband can’t eat all that heavy dairy. Normally, that wouldn’t stop me from making something that I love so much, but eating an entire batch of Keep Reading

Recipe for Homemade Ranch Dressing Mix

As I get busier and busier with life and kids (you know how it is), I become more partial to having mixes on hand. It makes cooking from scratch, and therefore saving money, a lot less time-consuming. Ranch dressing is easy enough to make from scratch, and even my favorite avocado-lime ranch Keep Reading

Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce

Summer just wouldn’t be summer without hot fudge sundaes. Am I right?  Every time I see a McDonald’s on the side of the road I’m tempted to stop by and grab a hot fudge sundae. Taco Salad Dressing

Who doesn’t love a good hearty salad in the summer? It’s such a great way to get a mix of veggies and protein without heating up the house or stuffing hot food into already hot bodies. Both taco salad and chicken caesar salad are staples in our house during the summer, and I love keeping avocado Keep Reading

If you love Texas Roadhouse Honey-Lime Dressing, you will love this recipe! As salad dressing recipes go, I am always and ever a ranch girl. One of my favorite gluten-free recipes is for copycat Chic-Fil-A avocado ranch dressing. But, I decided to branch out a little bit this week. The warmer Keep Reading

how to pasteurize eggs

So many wonderful gluten-free recipes call for the use of raw eggs, but lets face it, raw eggs can be scary. I mean, what about salmonella? A lot of you have contacted me about the safety of my homemade mayonnaise recipe, and my personal feeling is that as long as I’m using egg from clean hen yards Keep Reading

flax seed egg replacer

Have you ever been in the middle of baking something only to realize that you're out of eggs? I can't even count the number of times while making gluten-free recipes that I've done that. It's embarrassing. You'd think I'd learn better by now. But, every "oops!" moment has it's silver lining, right? Keep Reading
