Eat Well

You do not have to sacrifice flavor to eat healthy, nor do you have to pay extra for it. These recipes allow you the flexibility and the range to flex some culinary muscle. Here, you can find recipes that are gluten free and cost effective. Foods that are usually rich or seen as unhealthy such as pie, casserole, or cookies are reworked to be as good for you as they are tasty. However, it’s not just baked goods, but things as well such as tea, sauces, and other meal staples as well. You can cook healthy hearty family meals that are nutritious but also a value when it comes to total cost. When it comes to dietary restrictions, such as allergy free cooking, you can still have the foods that you enjoyed such as breads, cakes and puddings. These recipes work with these dietary guidelines to make sure that you get full flavor and still take care of your total well being.

January 21, 2013 By Elise New Leave a Comment This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure policy for more info.

Ever since I can remember, my mom has made this amazing veggie dip for all the holiday parties. So I asked Keep Reading

Chicken-Fried Steak

This is a favorite recipe of ours because, apparently Chicken-fried … stuff, is an essential food group in a southern family. Fortunately, chicken-frying is a pretty simple skill to learn, and it doesn’t really matter if you’re using gluten-free flour, wheat flour, chicken, beef, or pork. My main Keep Reading

Image Credit A few nights ago, I was in the mood for something “different” for dinner. So I hopped online and started looking up recipes. I ended up choosing three - all of them incorporating copious ammount of minced garlic. Poor planning? Yeah, probably. Actually, it was more along the lines Keep Reading

hot cocoa mix

Sometimes, there’s just nothing that hits the spot on a cold morning like a steaming mug of hot chocolate. My usual policy is to not drink my calories, but I make an exception for a good cup of hot cocoa. Hot chocolate with a homemade marshmallow? Yes please! I wrote a while back about some of Keep Reading

honey sweetened cheesecake

Wanna know what makes me happy? Making something really decadent from 100% homemade and/or local ingredients. Like cheesecake. Yup, homemade cheese, homemade vanilla, eggs from our front yard, and honey from our neighbor’s bees. It rocks. And incidentally, cream cheese is one of the easiest cheeses Keep Reading

Gluten-Free Yeast Doughnuts Recipe

Can we say YUM? I think so! I remember trying a recipe from a book I thought I trusted. Ha! I can still taste the grease-soaked, crumbly, nasty things. On the bright side, the fudge icing was divine. Fortunately, my sister came across this recipe not too long ago, and they are good! Texture is Keep Reading

One of the things that has made my life a lot easier - especially since becoming a mother -  is the crock pot. I absolutely love being able to throw food in in the morning and not have to worry about it the rest of the day. As a bonus, the house smells wonderful after a few hours, like I’m really Keep Reading
