We had a bit of a crazy weekend with farm work and a surprise birthday party for dad, so I’m combining what should have been Saturday’s post on baby prepping with today’s fit pregnancy post. Moving Garrett’s clothing and stuff into his new room wasn’t a big deal, and I’m enjoying the extra Keep Reading
Mom Fitness
Mom Fitness is all about staying healthy while getting it all done as a mother: cooking, cleaning, feeding your family and running the household. It’s important to stay healthy as a mom, and it’s one of the things I’m most passionate about.
I stay healthy through eating healthy, and I want to teach you that you too can get on track with healthy eating! And you can feed your family healthy food too. But it doesn’t have to be a total chore. There are great ways to incorporate superfoods into your diet, and so many tricks to using whole foods from the garden.
Another way I achieve fitness as a mom is by exercising. I love to go for a run to clear my head. I also love lifting weights – it’s a great way to stay in shape. And the best thing about both of these activities? You don’t need a gym membership to do them, once you make the initial investment in the right fitness equipment!
Project Fit Pregnancy: Week 36
36 weeks. Hooray for making it to the last month! When I opened my pregnancy app yesterday, I blinked and looked again when I saw the “28 days to go” header. Less than 30 days?! It seems unreal. According to the midwife, this baby - who by the way still doesn’t have a name it “it’s” a boy - is Keep Reading
Project Fit Pregnancy: Week 35
Five more weeks! Not only are we down to single digits, now I can count them on one hand! Last week was kind of a bummer. I got in one workout, got some sort of sinus/resperatory cold, but felt well enough Saturday for another light workout. So all was not lost. I was reading a conversation on a Keep Reading
Project Fit Pregnancy: Week 34
Last week’s workouts almost didn’t happen. We were so busy it seemed like I was running around like a chicken with no head. Funny thing is, I don’t even remember what we were doing! Here’s the workout: Monday: Squat - 95 lbs. 3x5 OHP - 55lbs. 3x5 Wednesday: Sumo deadlift - 135lbs. 2x5 push-ups - Keep Reading
Project Fit Pregnancy: Week 33
This past week was hectic to say the least. With the regular farm chores, Gabriel running down to help set up fence on a rented pasture, the farmer’s market, and getting ready for the county Arts And Ag Tour. Whew! I nearly gave up working out with all that was going on. It seemed that there was Keep Reading
Project Fit Pregnancy: Week 32
Well, we’ve been in the third trimester for a full month now. It’s good to know that “the most miserable trimester” is one third of the way over. Besides, it makes us that much closer to meeting our baby. Gabriel’s been telling Garrett that were having a baby, which he thinks is great, but then Keep Reading
Project Fit Pregnancy: Week 31
Is it Tuesday again already?! Time flies when you’re having fun I guess. Or when you’re incredibly busy! Truth be told, I hope the time keeps flying like this. Not that I’m not enjoying this pregnancy to the extent that I can, and not that I don’t realize how difficult it may be to have both a Keep Reading
Project Fit Pregnancy: Week 30
How was your week? Mine was mostly good, with a somewhat significant downer in that I put my upper back out Friday, which is why you only see two workouts this week - loading a weighted barbell on top of a misaligned spine isn’t such a great idea. Fortunately, I’m married to a massage therapist, and Keep Reading
Project Fit Pregnancy: Week 29
Week 29, woohoo! At this point, I think I’m excited about every week that goes by. It feels like the home stretch - even though birth-day is still about 3 months away. I must confess that last week, I cut my workouts down to two exercises instead of three. It seemed that no matter how few or what Keep Reading
Project Fit Pregnancy: Week 28
Woohoo! Made it to the third trimester! So, from everything I’ve read and been told, pregnancy is all downhill from here. Heartburn, leg cramps, breathlessness, …. I can’t remember all the maladies, but there are a lot of them. Honestly, it’s hard to find positive talk on pregnancy - especially Keep Reading
