Family

If you’ve spent anytime on my blog, you know that my family is my number one concern pretty much all of the time. Well, making sure that my husband and my kids and I can all have the best quality of life possible. That doesn’t mean we have everything we want all of the time, but we definitely get what we need, and we try not to take anything for granted.

I homeschool our children, so this is a great place to come for tips on homeschooling. I share deals I find on textbooks, Christian-based curriculums that work well, and tips for getting your kids to sit still and listen.

Another important thing for me is to try and fill each day with the activities we love to do together. We spend time outdoors on the farm, we take inexpensive trips together (check out my travel tips for busy moms) and we even renovated our old mobile home with the help of our kids.

In an effort to eat healthy as a family, we even did the Whole30 diet together. Check out my plans, meals and what worked and what didn’t.

When Life’s Little Frustrations Get to You

January 18, 2019 By Elise New 3 Comments This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure policy for more info.

This morning we had a meltdown at breakfast. And by “we”, I really mean my daughter. Her water wasn’t cold enough. So I launched into this spiel about unimportant the water temperature was. I asked if in five minutes, when she’s away from the breakfast table, it make a difference. I asked how Keep Reading

Before we get started, I just want to say that I feel a little odd writing basically a diary-type post - focused on me and what I'm doing. But I hope that you can find inspiration in what I'm doing and know that everyone's goal and goal setting process looks different. So, January first has come Keep Reading

It’s that time of year again. Oh, you know what I mean. The time of year when you can’t take your kids into the store with you because the entry way is lined with toys they want. Those stores know exactly how to get parents to buy. And of course, it’s not just toys lining the entry - they know Keep Reading

...And just like that, Thanksgiving is less than a week away. Yesterday my sister in law sent out her annual Thanksgiving dinner invitation, and we all started planning our contributions. How To Teach Your Kids Gratitude

Fall is a special time in Texas. It’s not too hot (most of the time), but it’s also not too cold - and we get rain, which we may or may not have seen in the summer months. The leaves may be falling and dying, but for us, it’s a time of rejuvenation. It’s time for adventures. One of our big Keep Reading
