Gabriel decided last winter that he wanted to move back. Moving south where the winters are warmer and dryer would partially aleviate his back problems, and of course, there’s the family farm down there, plus the fact that he has a hard time finding off-farm work here in Tennessee that he actually likes.

So we’re moving. trading tall trees for short ones, wild berries for catus, Rocky, well hydrated soil for sand.

We’ll be living in the camper for a while – hopefully not very long. It just depends on how long it takes to find a place to rent or… well, we’ll see.

My new kitchen/dining room

Admittedly, when I stepped into the camper a few evenings ago (after Gabriel removed the snake skin -eek!), the more I cleaned up after the mice, the closer I got to having a panic attack. But After sleeping on it, and finishing the cleaning the next morning – all except for the shower – I’m feeling a lot more postitive about it.

So we spent yesterday getting it ready to roll downt highway, and filling it with most of our possesions, and today, it’s on it’s way down to Texas. Probably about 3/4 of the way to it’s destination as I type.

And I thought the bathroom in our house was small!

The kids and I are still here in Tennessee. We expect to be here until close to the end of the month when Gabriel gets back from his Argentina trip. At that point, we’ll pack the car (as full as we can get it I’m sure), and head to Texas to meet him.

I’m not sure how life is going to look living in a camper with two very active children. It’ll be an adventure for sure!

Standing at the edge of the kitchen, you can see into what will be our bedroom.

I’m a big fan with simplifying and living minimally, which is a good thing when you’re looking at living in less than 300 square feet. I’m sure it’ll still be difficult, but I think I’m looking forward to the experience, I think it’ll be good to be able to look back on this time in our lives and say “we did it”, and hopefully, that we learned a lot.

Hey look! It’s me!
